Student from L.A. hoping to move to the California coast this summer for school in the fall. California is awesome!

If anyone from the Santa Barbara would like to help a guy out with figuring out the city as far as college housing goes, that would be great. I'm hoping to move north within the state by mid July to early August and would like to get a few recommendations as to where some good places to live in in Santa Barbara.
