In addition to the impoundments (ponds) listed, I suggest fishing the Huron River itself as it winds between the deeper waters. Although it can sometimes be deep, there are many areas that are shallow enough for "wet" wading (shorts and tennis shoes) that will yield many smallmouth bass. Try below the Argo Dam or along the Arboreum near the UM Hospital. I mainly use spinners, but fly rods with "wooly buggers" will work great and give you quite a thrill if you latch onto a larger fish.
