George G. Parker, 78, a prominent Ann Arbor township farmer died early this morning at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Parker, born on the family farm at 4540 Geddes Rd. on Nov. 15, 1877, operated that farm and the Parker Mill all his adult years until his death. The scenic mill on Fleming Creek is a well-known landmark.

He was a member of the Ann Arbor Farmers' Club.

Surviving is his wife, the former Grace Pettibone of Superior township. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in October.

Also surviving are three sons, Everett G. at home and Dale and W. Lyman, both of Ann Arbor township; three daughters, Mrs. Harvey Sanderson, Mrs. Zina Bolgos,  and Mrs. George L. Geisenfer, all of Ann Arbor township, and nine grandchildren.

He is survived also by a brother, Fred J. Parker of Superior township,  and three sisters, Mrs. Mort Crittendon of Ypsilanti Township,  Mrs. Wray Hinckley of Hamburg, and Miss Minnie Parker of Ann Arbor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Muehlig Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Fitch of Dixboro officiating. Burial will be in Botsford Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
