Description: The object of this association is the advancement of musical knowledge and education for its members, the majority of whom are music teachers. Activities range from monthly meetings for members, to recitals, workshops, festivals, competitions and ISMTA Achievement in Music (AIM) piano and voice exams for students. NWSMTA is affiliated with the Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
