Overview

Quoted from the 1943 Attica Torch, "The Student Council, which is the governing body of the high school was organized under the direction of our principal, Mr. D. B. Harrington. This organization consists of three members from each class and one from each club. Activities of the Council are carried out by committees which are usually appointed by the president.

The yearly activities, such as dances, assembly programs, and club meetings, were scheduled on the school calendar. The Student Council had charge of one assembly thus year and another one is scheduled. Both fire chief and air raid warden are appointed by the president and are under the guidance of the Student Council.

A new bulletin board was constructed through the suggestion of Mr. Harrington and approved by the Student Council. Activities, such as installing new pencil sharpeners, drinking fountains, and locker equipment are carried out under the direction of the Council.

Members of the Student Council have not been able to attend meetings at other school due to conditions brought about by the war. Although we have not been able to carry on our activities as extensively as in previous years, we the members of the Student Council, have found it an honor and privilege to be associated with the management of our Alma Mater."
