Overview
Quoted from the 2010 Attica Torch, "The Varsity Football finished with an 8-2 record. Coming into the season expectations were extremely high, and so was the talent level. With only one returning full-time starter coming back, the only question was the lack of varsity experience. The team started off on a very good note beating Alexander 39-27. The lack of varsity experience showed in a 14-0 loss to Notre Dame. Two more wins against Elba and Barker led the team into the Oakfield game where the Blue Devils were down 14-7 at the half. The team regrouped and prevailed 32-21. The key to the come from behind victory was the "Men up front" as they completely dominated the Hornets with nearly 400 years rushing, with Brad Clark running for 296 yards on 27 carries. The next week brought a match-up with the Holley Hawks for a chance to share the Genesee Region title. It was a much anticipated game with our team playing with intensity that led to Zach Fleiss's 37 yeard field goal on the final play. Homecoming was the scene of the league finale against Pembroke and the air attack was in full force as Greg Zybcznski had 177 yards receiving in leading to a 44-7 win.
The sectionals started with a home game for the #2 seeded Blue Devils against South Seneca. Attica won their first ever home sectional game 28-0 and advanced to the semi-finals to face Holley in a rematch. The game was never in doubt as the team jumped out to a 20-0 half-time lead and finished with a 40-6 win. Attica made history with their first ever sectional final against top-seeded Letchworth. It was a very physical game in which Attica battled very hard, but eventually lost 27-6. Team captain were Brad Clark, Craig Wolfley, Greg Zybczynski, and Spencer Ford. Brad Clark was named offensive player of the year while accumulating 1299 yards and 17 touchdowns. Greg Zybczynski led the team with 21 catches and 3 touchdowns. Brandon Banks and Spencer Ford led the squad in tackles.
Record: 8-2
