Biography
Edward was born in Utica, New York in 1942. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1959 where he was a three sport star athlete. After high school Edward attended Utica College and played basketball and baseball there. He would graduate from college in 1963 with a Bachelor's degree in history education and started teaching at Indian Lake Central School.
While at Indian Lake Central Edward coached JV and varsity boys basketball and was there until 1978. From there he became high school principle at Warrensburg Central School until 1981 and superintendent from 1981-83. In 1983 Edward was hired to be the superintendent of the Attica Central School District and remained there until he retired in 1997.
Throughout his teaching and administrative career Edward would referee high school and college basketball games for over 30 years, even officiating the state high school tournament in 1981 and 1983. While working in Attica he was the Genesee Region Superintendent Representative and served as Section V President from 1994-96. After retiring from Attica Edward would become the executive director of Section V Athletics until 2017.
Edward is a member of the Clinton High School Hall of Fame, Attica High School Hall of Fame, and an inaugural member of the Section V Executive Hall of Fame.
Edward is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Attica.
