If your Grandma was a decent cook and she lived in Baton Rouge, she'd shop at Calandro's. It's medium-sized, unrenovated, and has a good deli counter and un-cheap but extensive wine selection. It's not gourmet (you'll have to go to Whole Foods for lemon oil), but you can cook well from its limited selection. Little books behind each cashier seem to indicate that Calandro's still accepts personal credit.
