A. Gordon Anderson served on the City Council from 4/20/1918 to 1/20/1931. He served as Mayor from 1918 to 1930. Gordon Anderson, along with his brother John B. Anderson, operated the Anderson Ranch (located on today's Anderson Road, which is named for the family) and a number of businesses in the City of Davis. Davis Ace, aka Davis Lumber & Hardware, which today is run by Gordon's granddaughter, Jennifer Anderson, has been in the Anderson family for more than 100 years.
