Downers Grove is a village in Dupage county, and a southwestern suburb of Chicago connected by I-55. The village was founded in 1832 by Pierce Downer. It has two high schools, (Downers Grove South and Downers Grove North), several Jr High Schools, a public library, At the last census in 2014, the 49,715 residents. Being so close to the city and with the easy access of I-55, many commute to work in Chicago or neighboring suburbs. A train station that runs with the Metra line is also a source of transit for commuters. The second oldest sound movie theater in the country, the Tivoli Theater, is located in downtown Downers and still operates with a single screen, often showing second run movies.
