Ticket prices are reasonable and beat the pricier multiplex venues available elsewhere. The theaters have ads for local businesses before the show and play only a few trailers before launching into the show. 17 years olds looking to see an R-rated show are not permitted to buy tickets for younger children.
Nevada City
- Nevada City Theater Film Series: Showcases independent and foreign films in the historic Nevada City Theater located in downtown Nevada City. Part of the Sierra Theater family.
- Magic Theatre: Small independent theater nestled in the Seven Hills District of Nevada City. Showcases independent, foreign, and documentary films.
Truckee
- North Shore Theater Truckee: Truckee's main theater.
Outside Nevada County
- Regal Auburn Stadium 10: Multiplex venue 25 minutes from Grass Valley in Auburn, California.
- Brockway Theater: King's Beach, California about 20 minutes from Truckee.
- Cobblestone Cinema: Tahoe City, California about 30 minutes from Truckee.
Places to Rent Movies
- Blockbuster: Two locations. One in Grass Valley near I-Hop and Raley's. The other is in Brunswick Basin next to Safeway. Both offer 1-Night rentals.
- Video Library: Located in Brunswick Basin in the Save-Mart shopping center. This is the local DVD rental store with lots of great selections. Many DVDs have stickers advertising employee picks and there is even a cult classic section in the corner. Popcorn available to eat while you walk around.
