The 2011 poster for the Sierra Brewfest For all of the beer geeks, local AND out of town. Sierra Brewfest is held at the Fairgrounds every year in July or August. There are a number of local breweries that participate, as well as some breweries that come from nearby for the event. With over 30 participating microbreweries and over 100 different types of brews offered, there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy! Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. A ticket will get you a souvenir beer glass from which you can taste unlimited beer at the festival. Non-tasters and designated drivers get in free and are usually provided with a plastic soda glass.
In addition to beer tasting, all different kinds of food (sushi, sausages, BBQ burgers, etc.) are available for purchase. There is also live music and dancing. For any beer lover, this is not a festival to be missed.
Note: If you are planning on going to the Brewfest, but do not have a way home you may want to check out the local taxis services. If you're from out of town, it may be cheapest to check yourself into a hotel, inn, motel or B&B... for the night.
