Harmon Bell (March 23, 1855 – April 12, 1929) was an attorney, notable for the Key System. He was also one time leader of the California Bar [maybe Alameda County Bar? 2], president of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce, United States Food Administrator during WWI, and the first President of the Oakland Commercial Club. An obituary also says he was the first child born of American parents in Oakland. 2Bell was the son of Rev. Samuel Bell, founder of the First Presbyterian Church. He married Catherine "Kittie" Wilson (Bell) in 1880, and they had two sons, Traylor W. Bell (lawyer) and Joseph S. Bell (actor). Harmon Chase Bell was his grandson.
