The Jack London House is a 1890 Queen Anne-style row house, which Jack London and his mother rented from 1898 - 1900. Although the two moved around a fair amount, this house is notable because it was where Jack London wrote his first book, The Son of The Wolf, a collection of stories from the Klondike Gold Rush.
On March 8, 1977, the Jack London House was designated Oakland Landmark #17, under Zoning Case #LM 76-524.
