PopUpHood is a social enterprise consulted to incubate small business and revitalizing Oakland neighborhoods, block by block. The organization connects vacant retail spaces, property owners and start-up businesses to create economic opportunities for employment, permanent retail leases and successful, vibrant urban neighborhoods.
In Old Oakland, they worked with the landlord of a building to put stores in 5 storefronts for six months rent free.
