BIO

Rufus C Vose was born in Oakland to George Vose, a prominent Oakland resident. His brother, George H. Vose, Jr was also quite influential in the real estate world. He was president of the Standard Warehouse Company and built the first bonded warehouse in Oakland and Poplar and Fifth. George H Vose, Jr married Helen de la Montanya, a relative of Mathew de la Montanya.1

It appears Rufus was also involved in real estate- the 1910 directory lists his profession as real estate with his business address as 968 Broadway and his residence as 1178 E. 19th.3

Vose was a member of Woodmen of the World.2
