Emerald Hills is a neighborhood in Redwood City. It's up in the hills towards Highway 280 and most of the houses are pretty expensive. It has an active neighborhood association which means there are some intense politics (around the character of the neighborhood, about building permits, and so on.) There's no sidewalks and there's lots of trees. Edgewood Park is in or next to Emerald Hills, and so are Handley Rock, the Easter Cross and two tiny lakes: Upper Emerald Lake, and Lower Emerald Lake, which is owned by 60 families and has extra summer memberships as a swimming club. The Lower Lake has a clubhouse, a tiny artificial beach, two diving boards, and in the middle of the lake, a tall water slide.
