One of the more significant waterways in San Francisco, Mission Creek is now entirely diverted into the storm drain system. The creek originally flowed from a small pond at the base of Twin Peaks through the Castro and Mission Districts and down what is now Division Street towards Mission Bay.

Utilized by the Ohlone Indians, the Spanish of Mission Dolores, and early San Franciscans for water, food, and transportation; Mission Creek and it's associated wetlands were infilled during successive waves of urban development starting in the mid 1800's.

Currently, Mission Creek can be viewed in the basement of the Armory and at the Mission Creek Channel next to the ballpark.
